GPhC

Register to qualify and practice as a Pharmacist in Great Britain. To be eligible to apply to register as a pharmacist, will need to complete:

Overseas Pharmacists’ Assessment Programme (OSPAP) is a one-year course designed to ensure that those who have qualified overseas receive the appropriate education and training to prepare them for UK practice and entry to pre-registration training.

52 weeks of the pre-registration training placement gives trainees the opportunity to develop and demonstrate the skills, knowledge and behaviours they need to practice to the standards expected of a pharmacist. It also gives them the opportunity to apply their academic knowledge in real-life situations.

The registration assessment is one of the ways we test that pre-registration trainee pharmacists can demonstrate that they understand how to apply knowledge appropriately and in a timely way, to make professional judgements in pharmacy practice. It also tests trainees’ number sense and that they are able to perform the calculations necessary to practice as a pharmacist.

Once you have successfully completed an OSPAP course, 52 weeks of pre-registration training, and the registration assessment, you are eligible to apply to register with us as a pharmacist.
